As you navigate the rapidly evolving sales landscape due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EquiTrust is responding to support you and your business. And we’re doing so in a corporate paradigm where employees adjust to working from home temporarily.
As the global emergency looms, we continue to address how to facilitate your ability to conduct business with your clients remotely. The modification to our Business Guidelines and release of the Remote Sales Disclosure were announced as social distancing was trending. You may now sell by phone with existing clients, and by video messaging (Skype, FaceTime, etc.) with new clients, when face-to-face meetings are not an option. The client-signed Disclosure – included with applications on AppBuilder and E-App – acknowledges such remote discussions for your protection.
Another early challenge was to frame a life-sales workaround for the underwriting telephone interview, which previously required you to be with your client – if conducted during business hours. Now this important step can be conducted from separate locations.
The new remote-selling environment truly lends itself to electronic applications. If you haven’t used E-App, I encourage you to explore its simplicity and benefits. You complete the application online, send it to your client electronically for review and e-signature, and then submit it to EquiTrust where it hits the processing queue immediately. Plus, errors are minimized, and you get paid faster.
These are some of the innovations developed to accommodate your business. What has not changed is our collective commitment to serve you and your clients. Equipping every EquiTrust employee to work remotely was a heavy lift – and was completed in about one week. Even though we’re now separated by miles rather than feet, we’re connected by technology, and operating at full capacity. Our processing and service standards are being achieved.
